As a child I climbed trees and hung by my knees
Things that a girl shouldn’t do
I told my mother “I’m not like the others
I just don’t have time for school.”

Later in life my husband and I
Crossed the country so we could climb rocks
We lived in a panel truck and worked just enough
To make money so we could move on

I’d rather cross over the path than follow the tracks that everyone leaves
It may be uphill but the best way is still the one that leads to your dreams
So know what you like
Have control of your life
Then blaze your own trail and CLIMB!

I had the good fortune to be the first woman
To free climb Devils Tower
A friend and I were the first women to climb it
Without the aid of man-power

We saw Needles Highway and decided to stay
Because this was our favorite place
We climbed underground and mapped what we found
The first 65 miles of Jewel Cave

Find things you love and exciting discoveries are waiting around every bend
There’s no way to see just how big they may be until you get to the end
So know what you like
Have control of your life
Then blaze your own trail and CLIMB!
Blaze your own trail and CLIMB!
